Siargao - Your Next Heaven

If you are a type of a person who loves to travel and enjoy wandering at the white sand beach, then Siargao is the best place for you. So what’s in Siargao? Let me first give you about short details of the island. Siargao is a tear-drop shaped island situated 800 kilometers southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte.

The coastline is marked by a succession of reefs, small points and white, sandy beaches. The island is commonly known as the surfing capital of the Philippines due to the high-waves coming from the Pacific Ocean. The island offers exciting summer-feel experience not just to the locals but of course to the tourists coming from all walks of life. We have seen the drastic developments at the island as years passed by due to the fact that the island naturally attracts the interest of everyone who wanted to experience a haven-feel summer adventure.

Investors has flocked the island building world-class resorts, offering exciting adventures and of course the presentation of the mouth-watering sea-food dishes that would surely gives delight to our eyes. Here is the top place I would love recommend if you are planning to include this on your summer travel bucket list. Island Hopping in Gen. Luna, Siargao – Guyam, Dako, and Naked Island Island hopping is one of the most exciting adventures to do whenever you visit Siargao. It gives you an amazing ride sightseeing the wonderful formation of islands surrounding the area. To start off you have to take a ride with the short- tail boat from General Luna. Usually the rental rate starts around 1,500php for the boat which can accommodate a maximum of 10 persons.

Guyam, Dako, and Naked Island are the three stops along the tour which includes pick-up, drop-off, and a seafood lunch. Each island also offers different adventure experience. Our first stop will be the Naked Island. Time travel is usually 25 minutes from the jump-off point. This is only a very small island just similar to the white-sand beach at Camiguin. What you will see at the surrounding is only the white sand grain but you can still take an istagrammable worthy shots. You can enjoy the feeling of getting lost at a moment, feel the breeze, and be mesmerized watching the nearby islands.

The second stop would be the Dako’s Island. Many have said that this is one of the best islands in Mindanao due to the almost perfect white sand grain and astonishing crystal clear waters surrounding the area. The island is also secluded giving you a peaceful feel upon visiting the place therefore it is a perfect spot to give yourself a treat to relax while sitting under the shade of the beautiful cottages. The island is surrounded with coconut trees and small cottages. The last stop is the Guyam Island. It is quite bigger than the Naked Island but is only smaller compare to the Dako’s Island. Unlike the first to islands, Guyam is surrounded with rocky coral reefs so you just can’t go anywhere the shore with your barefoot. Instead use a slipper or a sandal as you stroll along the coastline.

At the center of the island is a small cottage surrounded with trees. My takeaways: Don’t bring so much stuff while doing the island hopping as the whole travel time might take very long. You don’t also want to stress yourself carrying heavy things and worry on where to leave them whenever you want to stroll or go somewhere to take photos.

Just bring light stuff like phone or camera if you wish to take lots of photos and of course don’t forget to bring cash just in case you need something to buy.

So now, I have already given you a short preview about what to expect and prepare whenever you wish you wanted to include this island at your summer travel bucket list.
